I was meant to de-load this week and set some PR’s on the weekend in order to peak for a competition I was preparing for. I’m not doing that competition anymore, so I didn’t see the point in not training this week and next week (as a recovery week), and veritably lose 2weeks of training time. So I revamped my programming and spruced up my nutrition and got to work this afternoon.

My training buddies today were Jarrod Burr, Nick Close and Scott Chafer from the UK. I really had to fight for my last set of 10 in the deads, and it was great to have those guys there barracking for me. I tell you what! My lats, glutes and lumbar were FIRING! I hated every second of those sets of 10, but dammit I love the feeling after! Weird huh? 🙂

I was lucky, I didn’t have much on after my 1630 session finished so I went for a walk with Burry and then hit it out with the barbell. Me versus steel! Next time though, I might have to do my EMOMs as this session went for about 2hrs!! Lot’s of rest was had.
